ANN ARBOR, MI – OCTOBER 2, 2003 Entivity, A Phoenix Contact Company, the leading supplier of PC-based automation and control software announces the release of Entivity Studio™ Version 7.2. Studio recently gained recognition as one of eight Grand Prize winners in the Microsoft^® Office System Partner Solution Builder Contest 2003 for its use of Visio for control programming and HMI development. Entivity is very proud of this accomplishment and looks forward to continuing its collaboration with the Microsoft Visio^® product line.

Studio 7.2 has many enhancements, including a new Windows CE target. Based on customer feedback requesting support for displays on Windows CE controllers, Studio 7.2 supports the CP306, CP310, and CP312 devices from Phoenix Contact. These Windows CE-based controllers have a 6”, 10” or 12” display, respectively, and provide the perfect embedded controller.

In addition to support for the new Phoenix Contact CE Controller, Studio 7.2 includes a new graphical interface to “auto-update” all CE controllers. It also includes number of updates to supported I/O drivers, including:

•  A new Modbus Plus driver
• Updated the Automationdirect.com Ethernet driver to support various new modules
• Updated the MEI motion driver 
• Improvements to the Modbus TCP and Modbus Serial drivers

In addition, Studio 7.2 includes a number of updates to the Flowchart Logic and HMI development tool, DesignCenter:

• HMI screens can now execute VBA code
• The SQL block now supports array data items
• HMI screens now support background animations
• A newly designed compare block provides more operations
