Entivity and ErgoTech Partner to Provide Complete Semiconductor Control Solutions with SECS/GEM Interface

Ann Arbor, MI – May 20, 2002    Entivity, A Phoenix Contact Company, the leading supplier of control software, announces a partnership with ErgoTech Systems, Inc, to offer a full software solution for semiconductor equipment manufacturers based on Entivity Think & Do® Live!™, Entivity Studio, and Steeplechase® VLC software and ErgoTech's TransSECS™ host interface tools.

Entivity software products provide an intuitive flowchart-based environment to develop control logic, PID control, serial communications and motion control for Microsoft Windows NT/2000/XP and Microsoft embedded platforms.  This provides machine builders a full control solution offering using the same software development environment.   Entivity software products also offer an integrated HMI, built-in productivity analysis tools, enterprise connectivity, and connections to DeviceNet, Profibus and other intelligent device networks.

ErgoTech's TransSECS allows users of Entivity software to add a SECS/GEM interface to any of their target platforms without code development.  TransSECS provides a graphical environment for defining SECS messages and linking to Entivity's products. The SECS interface provides full control, or just monitoring of the tool through a SEMI standard host link.

"We are pleased to announce our partnership with ErgoTech", said Ken Spenser, President & CEO of Entivity. "Our semiconductor customers have requested the SECS interface, and our open platforms provide a seamless interface to ErgoTech

TransSECS products.  Our customers can now add this industry standard connectivity to our industry leading control and visualization software."

"Adding a SECS interface to a tool has traditionally been a large software project  - typically involving many weeks or months time," said Jim Redman, President of ErgoTech, "TransSECS can reduce this to a few days with a rapid graphical environment for creating the host interface.  This is a natural match for Entivity's intuitive control and end-to-end high productivity graphical tools."
