Entivity Makes Visio 2002 Extras Available!

Entivity's developers have recognized that there are some really cool things you can do in Visio, but they aren't always intuitive or easy to accomplish. With this in mind, our developers created the Entivity Studio Extras. These extras install a number of new functions that can be run within Visio 2002 and thus perform actions on the Studio objects in the HMI screens.

Valid ESS customers can download these extras from our website in the ESS Zone. http://www.entivity.com/software.asp

SQL DATE & TIME FUNCTIONS

Entivity Studio has the ability to use a block to communicate to SQL databases. In the SQL world, you can find many different ways to transfer the Date and Time information. However, when attempting to pass the date and time to the SQL database, you will run into a mismatch of data types.

Because this is the case, Entivity has created some sample subcharts to convert the data to a floating point number that represents the date and time in the database. The sample code and the description is available online in our eAnswer Knowledge Base - Article 319.

Microsoft Visio powers Studio's HMI Screen Development System

Find out why Visio 2000 is integrated into Studio's DesignCenter!

Visio & Studio Integration

All of Entivity's Studio customers have and use Visio with their projects. However not all the people involved in the project development have Visio. This can prove to be very difficult to

discuss changes to the logic if other people on the project can't view the document. Many of Microsoft's customers have experienced this dilemma so Microsoft created and released a Visio 2002 Viewer. This viewer installs as a plug-in to Internet Explorer and allows users to view any Visio 5, 2000, or 2002 document in a web browser. Now project members can pass the Visio documents around to other team members and they will be able to view the code and comment on it. To learn more, please visit Microsoft's Visio 2002 Viewer page.

Got Questions? eAnswer is the Place

Visit eAnswer on the Entivity Web Site!

The Entivity eAnswer system is a browser-based knowledge base system that empowers Entivity's customers to find the information that they need, when they need it. eAnswer is available from the Support page on the Entivity Website.

All customers have had access to the eAnswer system since it's inception at the end of 1998. eAnswer has had almost 128,000 hits and almost 24,000 specific searches since then, helping customers across the globe find answers to issues even when their local time zones and holidays make contact difficult.

eAnswer is also an ideal way to submit technical support questions. When someone posts a new question here, emails are dispatched immediately to all Entivity support engineers notifying them of a new incident. It is not uncommon to receive responses to incidents posted late at night, weekends, and holidays.

Find out more about eAnswer here!

For step-by-step how-to info on these and other topics, visit eAnswer on the Entivity website.
