Customer Profile of the Month - C-MAC

C-MAC

With it's headquarters in Montreal, Canada, C-MAC's Automotive Business Unit produces actuators, sensors, electronic controls, under-the-hood applications and body electronics. To satisfy customers' requests, C-MAC had to meet high

volume, high quality and low cost requirements. C-MAC found that Think & Do Live! from Entivity met those quick development and low cost needs. Furthermore, C-MAC was able to create a system that had only one operator and fully automated the control system. Ultimately, C-MAC eliminated many obsticles and maximized operator's efforts!

"By using WinPLC platforms and DirectTouch operator panels, we saved approximately 40% in hardware costs compared to standard PLC solutions we considered."

- Eric Price, Supervisor for Machine Design

Visio Tips for Entivity Studio!

Entivity has created a new edit and display stencil that has built in label capability. This new stencil will be available in 7.2 or can be downloaded and used with existing 7.X products.

How to Use: Simply drag and drop and configure Data Expression 1(i.e. tndExpr1) as with the previous stencil. Then select the shape and start typing the label (or use and standard Visio text editing approach) and the label will appear on the left of the value box. If you wish to change the label position, simply right click and select, left, right, top, or bottom.

This stencil will appear in all newly create Studio 7.2 projects. If you wish to include this in an existing project, simply select File|Stencils|Open and browse to the location of the “Edit and Display with Label.vss” file. This file is typically found at {Drive]:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Visio10\1033\Solutions\Entivity Stencils.

Got Questions? eAnswer is the Place

Visit eAnswer on the Entivity Web Site!

The Entivity eAnswer system is a browser-based knowledge base system that empowers Entivity's customers to find the information that they need, when they need it. eAnswer is available from the Support page on the Entivity Website.

All customers have had access to the eAnswer system since it's inception at the end of 1998. eAnswer has had almost 128,000 hits and almost 24,000 specific searches since then, helping customers across the globe find answers to issues even when their local time zones and holidays make contact difficult.

eAnswer is also an ideal way to submit technical support questions. When someone posts a new question here, emails are dispatched immediately to all Entivity support engineers notifying them of a new incident. It is not uncommon to receive responses to incidents posted late at night, weekends, and holidays.

Find out more about eAnswer here!

For step-by-step how-to info on these and other topics, visit eAnswer on the Entivity website.
