VLC Supports Fastest Scanrates

It's possible to achieve reliable scanrates below 1 millisecond in VLC 5.2 projects. Depending on the type of hardware you're using, you can configure scan rates as low as 0.2 milliseconds for VLC runtime systems. For details, visit eAnswer and select Steeplechase Visual Logic Controller; then enter the keyword: Scanrate in the Search field.

Studio Subcharts Cut Development Time

Subcharts are portable, reusable logic that can be added to flowchart programs using the Call Block. Studio comes with several libraries including one that contains IEC 1131 Function Block equivalents. You'll find them in the Thinklets folder which is part of every Think & Do Studio. Windows Explorer browse to Program Files>Thinkndo>Thinklet>FuncBlks.

Answers to your questions!

How do I access VLC arrays in VLC HMI?

VLC HMI cannot access entire multi-dimension arrays. Instead, you can bring in multiple single dimension arrays with a maximum length of 64 bits. Do this by manually creating HMI tags on a Steeple.dll device. The default device type is OPC.

How can I get a Think & Do Studio flowchart or button

on a screen to display a dialog box?

A little VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) code added to your Studio project will allow support for dialog box display in HMI screens. The code monitors an item in the data table and directs the execution of specified tasks.

For step-by-step how-to info on these and other topics, visit eAnswer on the Entivity website.
